Account Manager Animal Nutrition, Spain
You will be part of the Animal Nutrition team within Brenntag Spain and will be responsible for managing and developing our business relation to an already established customer portfolio but also finding and developing new customers within the Animal Nutrition, Petfood & Rendering segments. Focus selling includes solutions, value added services and specialties. You will report to the Business Manager Animal Nutrition and work within a team of like-minded colleagues. Your primary objectives will be to execute our strategies to achieve gross profit and volume growth, develop new business and optimize the performance and financial return of existing businesses. The position holder will be working from Spain.
Responsibilities
Driving Business Results
Full accountability to deliver key business metrics following our strategy
Manage key accounts to maximize revenue and profitability
Take personal responsibility for successfully closing nominated customer projects
Maintain and build industry knowledge: trends, regulations and unmet needs in the market
Comprehensive knowledge of the major Animal nutrition and Petfood players in the Spanish region
Support the Business Manager Animal Nutrition in achieving the budget targets
Business Development
Identify and develop a comprehensive understanding of customer potentials and convert them to Brenntag solutions for own and cross‑selling customers
Identify new product opportunities within the Animal Nutrition and Petfood segment
Support sales growth and cross‑selling in relevant industries
Provide product and market information to internal stakeholders
Provide input for supply chain improvements for our customers
Relationships
Develop strategic and operational relationships with key decision makers and influencers within customer and relevant supplier communities
Develop strong relationships with Brenntag internal colleagues, within Spain and the broader EMEA team
Travel
Approximately 30‑40% of domestic travel.
Your Profile
Skills
Proven ability to meet and exceed targets
Track‑record of developing strong and influential business relationships
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
High level of self‑motivation and the ability to create opportunities and generate business
Ability to take ownership and meet deadlines
Enthusiastic, determined and highly motivated
Proven teamwork skills with demonstrated abilities to work collaboratively
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems. Knowledge of SAP and SalesForce an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 3‑5 years of work experience in sales to complex customers within the relevant industry.
Work experience from international settings preferred
Education
Master degree (e.g. Animal Science, Veterinary Science) or similar level of education.
Language Skills
Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English are essential, Catalan helpful.
