Position: Business Development Manager Report to: Global Business Development Head Location: Leganes, Madrid Job Description: We are seeking highly organized, proactive, and strategic Business Development Manager to support the investment and business development activities of the Company. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in searching and identifying investment opportunities, managing technology analysis and business potential evaluation, carrying out business development initiatives, and strategic channel collaboration as well as financing efforts. This position will offer exposure to high-level strategic decision-making, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and contributing to the growth of the company in the biotech sector. Key Responsibilities: *Opportunities Sourcing and Evaluation: Identifying new business opportunities, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, acquisitions, and collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and other stakeholders. Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing partners, including biotech companies, academic institutions, regulatory bodies, and investors. Support efforts to acquire and manage channel equity, including negotiating investments and securing strategic partnerships. Prepare technical presentations, financial models, and business cases to support the acquisition decision-making process. *Project and Portfolio Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of business development initiatives and investments. Assist in tracking the progress of ongoing projects and ensure timely execution of business deals and development initiatives. Work closely with legal, finance, and research teams to manage and monitor due diligence processes and project milestones. *Strategic Support: Provide the executives with research and analysis on key industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the biotech market. Coordinate and manage key internal and external meetings, presentations, and communications related to business development efforts. Handle confidential information and sensitive negotiations with discretion and professionalism. Qualifications: *Education: PhD in Life Sciences / Biotechnology or a related field a must An MBA degree is a plus. *Experience : 3+ years of experience in business development, biotech project investment, or strategic consulting in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry Demonstrated successful experience in sourcing and achieving business deals Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical, research skills and a fast learner Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in project management Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-starter with a professionalism, attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively Preferred Attributes: Knowledge of venture capital and private equity in the biotech sector. Strong network within the biotech, pharma, and healthcare investment communities.
