About the Job We’re looking for a Data Platform Lead to drive the evolution of our data platform and lead a high-performing team of data engineers. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, Engineering & Data , you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling our data platform to support critical business functions across the enterprise. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic platform development , ensuring our data infrastructure grows with the business while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and performance . Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence and innovation. Drive adoption of best practices in data engineering and data analytics . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Establish technical standards and architectural guidelines for the data platform. Develop comprehensive data modelling frameworks and governance protocols. Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks . Balance competing stakeholder expectations while maintaining platform roadmap focus. Manage platform capacity planning and cost optimisation initiatives. Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Champion data quality initiatives and automated testing frameworks. Understand batch and streaming data ingestion patterns . Deliver projects across complex technical initiatives with strong project planning and execution skills. Desirable Skills and Experience Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering , or related field. 8+ years’ experience in data platform development and big data technologies . Hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL . Deep experience with Databricks on AWS/Azure cloud environments . Strong understanding of medallion architecture and modern data Lakehouse patterns. Expertise in data modelling and governance frameworks for enterprise environments. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to deliver results in complex environments . Financial services experience is a plus. What We Offer Competitive salary, based on experience. Permanent contract.
