KP Aviation, an international supplier and procurer of aftermarket aviation components and assets, is searching for the next key member of our team! We are seeking a highly motivated The Director of Technical provides executive-level leadership and strategic oversight for all technical evaluations related to the acquisition, leasing, transition, and disposition of aircraft, engines, and material packages. This role serves as the senior technical authority for asset transactions, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across the company’s asset portfolio.The Director leads and governs aircraft and engine transition activities by establishing standards, policies, and oversight mechanisms for detailed technical audits and evaluations prior to technical acceptance. This includes airworthiness documentation (ADs, SBs, MODs, STCs, LDND), component life and traceability (TCI components and LLPs with back-to-birth audits), OCCM status, landing gear LLP traceability and overhaul records, structural repair assessments, APU and engine records, BSI evaluations, operational compliance requirements, certifications, and physical inspections.In addition to technical leadership, this role partners closely with executive leadership, commercial, leasing, finance, product line, and operations teams to support strategic investment decisions, portfolio optimization, and long-term asset performance. Performs other duties as assigned by executive management.Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the company’s technical asset management and records strategy across all aircraft, engine, and component portfolios.
- Serve as the senior technical authority for acquisitions, leases, returns, and remarketing transactions.
- Define governance, standards, and best practices for technical audits, records management, and asset evaluations.
- Oversee pre-purchase inspections, lease return audits, and end-of-lease technical assessments.
- Ensure continued airworthiness and regulatory compliance of assets under ownership or lease, including lifecycle and annual audit programs.
- Review and approve high-risk or high-value technical findings, BSI reports, and asset condition assessments.
- Lead technical risk identification, mitigation strategies, and executive-level reporting for asset transactions.
- Partner with Commercial, Leasing, Trading, Finance, and Product Line leadership to support valuation, underwriting, and investment decisions.
- Direct preparation and approval of Technical Minipacks and back-to-birth trace documentation for asset marketing and sale.
- Oversee organization, integrity, and long-term governance of digital and physical technical records.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technical organization, including managers, engineers, and specialists.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce transaction timelines, improve audit quality, and enhance scalability.
- Serve as the primary executive-level interface with Airlines, MROs, Lessors, regulatory authorities, and strategic partners on technical matters.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including new asset types, platforms, and market expansion.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by executive management.To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Expert-level knowledge of aircraft and engine systems, technical records, and asset lifecycle management.
- Extensive experience with aircraft and engine acquisitions, leasing, and aftermarket operations.
- Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks and airworthiness requirements (FAA, EASA, and others as applicable).
- Proven ability to lead complex, high-value technical evaluations and manage portfolio-level risk.
- Demonstrated leadership experience building and managing technical teams and functions.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical findings into commercial and financial impact.
- Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.

- Strategic, adaptable, and results-oriented leadership style.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Aviation Management, Aircraft Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial aviation technical operations, asset management, leasing, or aftermarket environments.
- Extensive experience with aircraft and engine technical evaluations, records reviews, and asset transitions.
- Expert knowledge of aircraft systems, engine systems, airworthiness documentation, and technical records management.
- Strong understanding of FAA, EASA, and international regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience leading aircraft acquisitions, lease transitions, teardowns, returns, and remarketing activities.
- Advanced knowledge of ADs, SBs, MODs, STCs, LLP traceability, OCCM status, BSI inspections, and back-to-birth record audits.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing technical teams, engineers, records specialists, and cross-functional departments.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to assess technical risks and support investment and valuation decisions.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership, lessors, airlines, MROs, OEMs, and regulatory authorities.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to provide executive-level technical reporting and recommendations.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, technical records databases, and digital asset management platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
