Job Summary:We are seeking a hands‑on Bookkeeper / Controller to build and manage its accounting and financial infrastructure. This role is responsible for establishing GAAP‑compliant systems, producing accurate financials, implementing internal controls, and maintaining audit‑ready records to support growth and future exit planning.Primary ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain the general ledgerManage AR, AP, payroll, and all bank/credit card reconciliationsComplete month‑end and year‑end closePrepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and fixed asset schedulesProduce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain accuracy and consistency across reporting periodsPrepare management reports and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planningAudit & ComplianceMaintain organized, audit‑ready documentationCoordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax professionalsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsInternal Controls & SystemsImplement internal controls and accounting policiesBuild approval workflows for expenses and paymentsManage accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online)Cash ManagementMonitor cash flow and working capitalManage vendor payments and payroll processesProvide financial insights to support operational decisionsPrepare financial packages for investors, lenders, or potential buyersQualificationsRequired5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience setting up or cleaning up accounting systemsProven ability to maintain audit‑ready financialsProficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online or similar)Strong Excel skills and attention to detailAbility to operate independently and own the accounting function
