Forward Deployed Engineer (Python, AI Systems)Spain (Madrid or Barcelona preferred) | HybridUp to 100k + performance bonus + equityWe're supporting one of our clients (an AI-native product company) in hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering, AI systems, clients & product and enterprise deployments.This is not a traditional backend role.It's for engineers who want to build, ship, and deploy AI-powered systems directly into real client environments, fast.The RoleAs a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work closely with enterprise customers to design, implement, and deploy AI-driven workflows powered by LLMs and agent-based systems.You'll take ownership from architecture to production.This includes:Designing backend architectures in Python (FastAPI-heavy stack)Integrating AI systems (LLMs, RAG pipelines, structured outputs)Building APIs and microservices for client-specific workflowsDeploying scalable, containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes)Debugging production issues and improving system reliabilityTranslating business requirements into clean technical solutionsYou won't just ship code — you'll see it live, used, and scaled.What We're Looking ForStrong backend engineering fundamentals (Python preferred)Experience building and operating production systemsComfort with APIs, data modeling, and microservicesExperience integrating third-party systems or working client-facingCloud experience (AWS, GCP, or similar)Product mindset and high ownership mentalityBonus if you have:Experience working with LLMs or AI-powered systemsExperience with RAG or structured output generationExposure to container orchestration (Kubernetes)Who Thrives in This RoleEngineers who enjoy solving messy real-world problemsBuilders who like autonomy and ownershipPeople comfortable speaking to stakeholdersDevelopers who prefer impact over bureaucracyThis is a high-intensity, high-ownership environment.Not a maintenance role.
