Commercial General Manager – North of Spain
Role Summary
The Commercial General Manager leads the full commercial and operational strategy of the organization, with a strong emphasis on marketing, sales, and scalable business growth. A major responsibility is to steermass marketing and performance marketing initiatives, ensuring the brand is well-positioned and demand generation is optimized across all channels.
The role includes driving go-to-market strategies, adapting global initiatives to the local market, and ensuring alignment with central functional teams. The manager overseeslarge-scale tech-marketing operationsand ensures data-driven decision-making to accelerate customer acquisition, retention, cross/upsell, and revenue performance.
A key component of this role isleading a large, diverse organization of up to 300 employees, building and developing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The General Manager is responsible for monitoring market trends, identifying business opportunities, and managing shared P&L performance. The ideal candidate is strategic yet highly hands-on, entrepreneurial, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving tech environment.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term growth strategies to achieve company objectives. Lead local marketing and sales strategy and execution, from branding and customer acquisition to retention, cross-selling, and up-selling.
Operational Management: Oversee all localization efforts to adapt the go-to-market approach to local requirements. Collaborate with central teams to leverage group resources and develop the local brand. Coordinate and prioritize projects and initiatives in collaboration with relevant departments.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and inspire a talented and diverse interdisciplinary team. Build and manage a high-performing sales and marketing team to drive company growth. Foster a work environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Financial Management: Assume shared profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for the local brand. Monitor and analyze key financial figures and performance indicators. Collaborate with various functions to identify cost efficiencies and revenue growth opportunities.Requirements
Fluent in both Spanish and English.
Willing to be based on site for a minimum of 3 days per week.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership positions, preferably in a fast-paced, agile, hyper-growth tech-related environment.
Proven leadership of very large teams (around 300 people)
Background in fast moving tech companies
Experience in tech marketing and leading cross-functional tech-driven marketing teams
Strong background in mass marketing and performance marketing
A proven track record of successfully achieving significant sales, revenue, and EBITDA growth.
Early career stages in consulting / ex consultant
A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Data and Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or similar postgraduate degree is advantageous.
An entrepreneurial attitude with a strong "can-do" mentality, resilience, and a "hands-on" approach.
Experience working in a functional matrix-organization and the ability to collaborate effectively with various business groups.
Profound technical knowledge and understanding, preferably in the area of domains, hosting, and cloud solutions.
