Hey! We're looking for experienced eCommerce Consultant to be the strategic voice for our clients, sitting next to founders, Heads of eCommerce and CMOs of the top-notch brands like Carhartt WIP, LadyGaga or Magda Butrym, helping them figure out what to build next, not just how to build it. If you've spent years untangling the kind of eCommerce problems most people overcomplicate, love hard commercial conversations, and want to shape the roadmap of an agency that ships world-class work, this might be an excellent opportunity for you.About Commerce-UIOver the last 7 years, we've been a technology partner for top league brands like Lady Gaga, Carhartt WIP North America, Pangaia, Magda Butrym or Rolex. Design-obsessed, engineering-led, and one of the leading Shopify agencies: we combine craft, user experience, and the latest technology to deliver eCommerce that raises the bar across the industry. Our goal is simple: to be one of the best eCommerce tech teams in the world.Achievements: Winning Webby Awards 2025 (Music & Entertainment) for LadyGaga Winning Best Custom Shopify Build 2024 Multiple Honorable Mentions in A What it's really like to work here At Commerce-UI, we hold a high bar for each other and take pride in our craft. Everyone here owns their work - not because someone expects it, but because we care about what we build and the people we build it with. We believe in high standards and flexibility, and we back that with real autonomy from day one. You'll quickly see how we operate: fast, focused, and with a lot of trust that everyone knows what they're doing. We don't rely on layers of management or rigid playbooks. Instead, we collaborate closely, share context openly, and help each other grow. Things move quickly, but that's part of the fun - it's how we learn, adapt, and ship meaningful work for iconic brands. If you value ownership, clarity, and a team that believes in mutual trust and high craftsmanship, you'll feel right at home with us. Why you'll love working here Over the years we've built our reputation as a top-notch engineering team. One that combines beautiful design with the right technology. The natural next step is to think harder about business impact: proposing features not for the sake of technology, but for what they do for revenue and our clients' success. The shift is from being seen as a dev agency to being a strategic growth partner. A dev agency gives clients exactly what they asked for. A strategic growth partner shows them what works, what the industry standard is, and proposes solutions that actually move them toward their goals. This is the service line you'll help shape from the ground up — real ownership over where it goes.Small, senior, passionate team - no bureaucracy, real impact Direct relationships with founders, CMOs and Heads of eComm at iconic global brands Freedom to shape both client roadmaps and our own product/services direction Flexible, remote-friendly culture What We're Looking For & What You'll Do:Responsibilities:Own the strategic relationship with a portfolio of clients post-launch — quarterly business reviews, roadmap sessions, and the harder conversations in between. Diagnose, don't just deliver. When a client says "we want a quiz," your first move is to understand the underlying conversion or merchandising problem — and decide whether the quiz is actually the answer. Turn client problems into roadmaps.Every conversation produces two outputs: a clearer next step for the client, and a sharper view for Commerce-UI on what to build, productize or specialize in next. Bridge strategy and execution. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Design Leads, Tech Leads and PMs — translate business outcomes into briefs they can run with, pressure-test scope and tradeoffs before they land in delivery. Own commercial outcomes on your accounts — client health, NPS, retention, and account growth on the portfolio you carry.Bring the outside in. Stay close to what's happening in DTC, Shopify Plus, headless, AI in commerce, retention, loyalty, B2B — and feed it back into client conversations and our own roadmap. Step in on key sales pitches when it matters — bring strategic depth to new business presentations, showcase our experience, and demonstrate to prospects that we understand their challenges from day one. Write to build authority.Turn your observations, client learnings and point of view into written content — LinkedIn posts, blog articles, email newsletters that positions Commerce-UI as a strategic voice in DTC and Shopify, not just a delivery shop. You don't need to be a polished writer, we'll pair you with a copywriter to help shape and refine it. Expectations: 5+ years in eCommerce. Brand-side, agency, consultancy, or any combination. You've owned (or directly supported) real commercial outcomes. Strong grasp of modern commerce stacks. You understand Shopify, headless architectures, CMS choices, subscriptions, loyalty, OMS, ERP integration well enough to have an opinion. A strategist, not a project manager. You don't run status calls, you run roadmap conversations. You're comfortable saying "I think you're solving the wrong problem" to a founder. Being data-driven. You can read a Shopify analytics dashboard, GA4 funnel or a CAC/LTV model and form a view in five minutes. Empathy. You get that behind every brief is a person with targets, constraints and internal politics. You listen first, meet clients where they are, and earn the right to challenge them. Strong communicator and writer. You can write a one-pager that gets a board to make a decision, and stand in front of 30 people at the client and hold the room. Self-directed. You're not waiting for a manager to tell you which client needs you this week — you already know. Comfortable with ambiguity. Many of our clients are scaling fast and don't have all the data, all the org, or all the answers. You bring structure without slowing them down.Nice to have:Experience in luxury, beauty, fashion or premium DTC Existing network in the Shopify Plus / DTC ecosystem Experience leading discovery / workshops with C-level stakeholders Our hiring process: Application → We care more about what you've done and the results you've achieved than a polished CV. Send us a short message/video describing your experience, impact, and why you think you'd be a good fit for Commerce-UI, along with your CV and any relevant links or portfolio.Discovery call → this is short (45 minutes) mutual check-in - we want to understand your expectations and share ours. We will talk in English. Homework → exercise for selected candidates who are seriously considered for the position. Typically a real (anonymised) client scenario where we'd like to see how you'd diagnose and respond — you'll walk us through your decision-making and thinking process.Presentation (60 min) → call with our founders and Head of PM to discuss homework and have a chance to talk about your experience Offer → if it's a match, we'll schedule a short call (20-30 minutes) to go over the details and next steps. If we don't move forward we'll do our best to give you thoughtful feedback. What's next?If you're interested please send an email to with the subject line: Senior eCommerce Strategist, and introduce yourself. We'll contact you shortly, set up an intro call and take it from there! Cheers!
