Description The Opportunity Are you ready to shape the future of energy?At Hitachi Energy, we are establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). We are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunityAs Power System Studies Engineer for SynCon, you’ll conduct simulation studies on synchronous machines to evaluate their behavior in power grids. You’ll turn customer specifications into actionable insights, prepare technical documentation, and share results directly with clients.You’ll collaborate with individuals across disciplines and geographies.How you'll make an impactUndertaking various simulation studies individually or as part of a team on daily basis.Making reports out of studies and presenting to customers.Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings.Coordination and communication with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries as well as in close connection to research and development activities.Having ambition in learning and sharing critical knowledge in today’s power system.You will be in frequent contact with the other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers and other Hitachi Energy units in an international environment.You will work independently as well as in a team and to assume responsibility for given tasks is a key to success.Your BackgroundYou are well familiar with the study of synchronous machines (large generators and/or motors) and their behavior in power grids.Experience of control systems including power system stabilizers, voltage regulators and excitation systems is considered highly meritorious.It is preferred that you have knowledge in several of the programs and tools we are using such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory, Matlab.Fluent in English. Any additional languages will be appreciated.Willingness to travel: Required up to 10%.
