With an industry-leading team of in-house energy experts, we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and function as Canadian Solar’s global development and power services business. /ppbr/ppbAbout the Role /b /ppbr/ppThe Senior PV Design Engineer is responsible for the technical design, analysis and optimization of utility-scale photovoltaic plants, covering all electrical and energy-related subsystems, from conceptual design to detailed engineering support. The role ensures that PV projects are technically robust, cost-efficient, grid-compliant and optimized for performance, supporting development, EPC execution and technical due diligence processes. /ppbr/ppbResponsibilities /b /ppbr/ppbPhotovoltaic Plant Design /b /pulliLead and develop the electrical and energy design of utility-scale PV plants. /liliDefine and optimize the main PV subsystems: PV modules and strings configuration, DC electrical design, Inverters and power stations, AC collection systems, Medium Voltage design and plant layout. /liliSupport integration with grid connection and HV interfaces (engineering coordination). /li /ulpbr/ppbEnergy Yield Performance /b /pulliPerform energy yield assessments and performance simulations using industry-standard tools. /liliAnalyze system losses, availability and performance ratios. /liliSupport optimization of plant design to improve LCOE and technical KPIs. /liliValidate assumptions for technical and economic models. /li /ulpbr/ppbEngineering Tools Software /b /pulliDevelop and review models using: PVsyst, System Advisor Model (SAM), Matlab, TRNSYS, Excel-based engineering models, AutoCAD (layout support). /liliManage and interpret large datasets for technical decision-making. /li /ulpbr/ppbTechnical Documentation /b /pulliPrepare and review: Technical specifications, Design criteria, Technical assumptions for offers and tenders, Inputs for EPC contracts and technical annexes. /liliSupport technical documentation for lenders, owners’ engineers and internal approvals. /li /ulpbr/ppbCross-Functional Coordination /b /pulliCoordinate with: Civil and mechanical engineering disciplines, Grid / HV engineering teams, Construction and commissioning teams (design support). /liliProvide technical clarification during EPC execution when required. /li /ulpbr/ppbQualifications /b /pulliDegree in Energy Engineering, Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Industrial Engineering, or similar. /liliMinimum of 4 years in technical offices within the renewable energy sector (mandatory experience in large-scale photovoltaic projects exceeding 50 MW with solar tracking systems) /li /ulpbr/ppbRequired Skills /b /pulliStrong analytical and design-oriented mindset /liliHigh capability in engineering software and data analysis /liliStructured and methodical approach to design /liliCost and performance optimization focus /liliClear technical communication /liliAbility to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams /liliHigh level of commitment and ownership /li /ulpbr/ppbWork location /b /pulliMadrid/Sevilla /li /ul
