This role sits within ABB’s Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We’re entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Reports to: Technical Program Manager.
Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product‑related issues and maintenance, and showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Implementing CI/CD integrations, infrastructure improvements, and job orchestration features to increase development and release velocity.
Supporting the Robotic Systems team by developing, maintaining and scaling automated test execution pipelines across virtual and HIL environments.
Optimizing the backend of our on‑premise map sharing solution.
This role contributes to the Sevensense by ABB team as part of ABB Robotics in Spain and Switzerland, helping build, optimize and maintain our industry‑leading visual localisation system.
Qualifications For The Role
3+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
Degree in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.
Comfortable communicating in English.
Experience with Python and at least one compiled language such as Rust or C++.
Expertise with DevOps topics such as containerisation, virtualization, OS deployment and configuration on Linux and Debian‑based distributions.
Bonus points for experience with web backend (REST), frontend (React), agentic engineering and IPv4 networking.
Bonus points for familiarity with robotics, ROS2 and embedded Linux (Jetson).
