This role sits within our Water Utility Division and Water Consultancy Division, which have ambitious growth plans aligned with AMP8 (2025–2030). Overview of the role: We are looking for a driven Senior or Principal Project Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team and deliver projects in close partnership with clients and contractors, strengthening relationships and securing further work. ResponsibilitiesLead the design of innovative and sustainable solutions to address leakage, clean water provision, and sewage disposal across water utility assets. Coordinate project teams throughout the lifecycle from design definition through implementation, ensuring business management system compliance, technical quality assurance, and cost and programme control. Manage client interface and work with contractors, including on-site collaboration and handling queries and changes. Supervise junior staff and provide technical and commercial guidance to support development. Represent the company in meetings and contribute to project delivery in fast-paced or emergency/reactive scenarios. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists (environmental, geotechnical, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical) to deliver complex projects. Candidate specificationEssential Experience in clean/potable water pipeline design and/or wastewater network and associated infrastructure design and/or treatment works. Civil Engineering or other relevant degree. Full professional membership of a relevant chartered body. Experience working in multi-disciplinary water engineering projects with technical disciplines including environmental specialists, geotechnical, civil, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers. Proven project management capability with multiple and/or complex projects in a multidisciplinary environment, proactive, adaptable to changing scenarios. Strong collaboration and communication skills for technical discussions in oral presentations and written reports to colleagues, non-technical staff, and clients. Proficient in English. A drive to stay current with professional development and emerging technical solutions. Desirable Experience with NEC PS contracts. Good understanding of designers’ responsibilities under CDM. Experience in the UK water sector would be advantageous but is not necessary.
