About the roleWe are looking for a Tech Lead / Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for AI and Machine Learning solutions.This is a critical, enterprise-level role focused on designing and scaling reusable AI products that deliver measurable business value across complex, multi-tenant environments and multiple operating companies.You will play a critical role in balancing cost, risk, and time-to-value, ensuring scalable, reusable, and enterprise-grade AI solutions that can be leveraged across multiple operating companies. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & ArchitectureDefine and drive technical strategy and architecture for AI/ML solutions.Lead the design of reusable AI products adopted across multiple business units.Provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple squads, ensuring consistency and quality.Develop and evolve technical blueprints, enabling early value delivery and industrialization of AI products.Simplify complexity in multi-tenant environments, ensuring seamless cross-company integration.AI / ML Platform OwnershipDefine the technical direction for AI/ML platforms, including:Generative AI abstraction layersML development and runtime platformsMLOps pipelines and CI/CD practicesEnsure scalable and efficient routes to production for AI models.Governance & Risk ManagementLead technical governance frameworks, including:Key Design Decision (KDD) processesArchitecture standards and reusable componentsApply a data-driven approach to risk identification and mitigation.Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, guardrails, and auditability.Innovation & External LandscapeMaintain an “always-on” view of the AI ecosystem, including:Generative AI modelsThird-party platforms and toolingEvaluate cost-benefit trade-offs of AI technologies and implementation approaches.Identify low-cost, fast-start solutions to accelerate value delivery.Collaboration & Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with:AI Engineering LeadAI Labs (London & Barcelona)CTO, CDIO, Cloud & Data Platform teamsBuild architectural consensus across enterprise stakeholders.Translate complex technical topics into clear insights for executive audiences.Adoption & Developer ExperienceOptimize internal adoption of AI products, treating colleagues as customers.Reduce friction in discovery, onboarding, and usage of AI solutions.Model and manage adoption costs and ROI.Community & CultureFoster a strong AI engineering community across the Group.Partner with People & Culture to support AI Academy learning initiatives.Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Required Experience & Skills15+ years in enterprise software engineering within complex environments.Proven experience providing hands-on technical leadership across multiple teams.Strong background in:AI / Machine Learning solutionsML engineering and MLOpsCloud-based architectures and platforms (AWS)Experience with:CI/CD pipelines for data science and MLThird-party AI platforms and toolsDesigning scalable, reusable systems Key CompetenciesStrategic and analytical mindset with strong business-to-technology translation skillsAbility to simplify complex technical topics for senior stakeholdersExcellent communication, leadership, and influencing skillsStrong focus on value delivery, ROI, and pragmatismForward-thinking, innovative, and continuously curiousThis position is Hybrid (2 per week to the office).
