As a BackEnd developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our platform for primary education, used by tens of thousands of teachers and students. You will contribute to innovative solutions that meet the needs of educators and learners alike. Working mode We offer two work models: hybrid (3 days from home, 2 in the office) or remote with occasional visits to our Barcelona office. Work must be performed exclusively from Spain. Role Responsibilities Key tasks of a Tech Lead:
- Technical leadership: Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions;
- Governance: Actively participate in the Tech Lead Forum, facilitating communication and collaboration between Architecture and DevOps teams;
- Innovate: Working on Proof-of-Concepts to assess new technologies, tools and techniques that could benefit both architectural goals and Engineering processes, and in the end, SL's customers.
- Cross-team collaboration: with the Architecture Office, with other CLS and non-CLS DevOps teams, with Product Management, etc.;
- Solution design: Translate high-level architectural vision into practical implementation strategies, incl. estimating high-level effort, i.E. as part of business cases or SL's strategic planning process;
- Mentorship: Grow the maturity of the DevOps teams by identifying and addressing knowledge or skill gaps;
- Knowledge sharing: Demonstrating technical thought leadership to a broader audience; We are looking for a candidate with strong technical expertise, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to contribute to system improvements and overall team success. Develop and enhance application features using Phyton 3.12, FastApi, and Php 8+ and Larabel 9+ for the Backend. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Service Engineers to identify areas for improvement in system architecture, performance, and maintainability. Optimize application performance, ensuring scalability and responsiveness. Work with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) to deploy, manage, and monitor microservices-based applications. Strong knowledge in AWS Infrastructure. Work with databases ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval using MongoDB and MySQL. Follow best practices in CI/CD (Bamboo and Bitbucket Pipelines), DevOps, and cloud-native development. Write clean, modular, and well-documented code with a focus on reusability and maintainability. Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and improve overall code quality. Must-have requirements BACKEND Development: Strong proficiency in Phyton 3.12, FastApi, Php 8+, Larabel 9+and async/reactive programming in general. Strong knowledge in AWS Infrastructure. Experience with debugging, maintaining, and supporting large-scale live systems in production. Experience in designing and developing microservice architectures. DATABASE & STORAGE: Experience with relational and non relational databases. DevOps & CLOUD: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) for containerized application deployment. Experience with AWS. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket). BEST PRACTICES & AGILE: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles. LANGUAGES: both spanish and english spokne an writen fluently.
