We’re Kabilio, an early-stage company backed by two leading venture capital firms, founded by experienced entrepreneurs, Alex Valls and Jose Ojeda , with a strong track record in building and scaling successful tech companies.
Our mission is to become the Financial Operating System for accounting firms and SMEs in Southern Europe, unifying accounting tax, payments, planning, and banking into a single platform.
Why this role matters
Today, Kabilio already runs three core products in production — Invoices Processing, Bank Transactions, and Invoicing — used daily by real customers. At the same time, we’re building our Accounting platform, the product that defines our long-term vision and the reason Kabilio was founded.
AI sits at the core of everything we build, from automating and categorizing financial data to enabling intelligent workflows and decision-making across the entire financial lifecycle. We rely on modern architectures and proven technologies to turn this vision into a scalable, production-ready platform.
As a Tech Lead at Kabilio, you will play a key role in shaping how we build and scale our product. You’ll work closely with the CTO and a small, high-impact engineering team, combining hands-on development with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and mentoring.
This is not a pure management role: you will write code, set the technical direction for your area, and help the team ship high-quality software at speed.
What you’ll do
Take technical ownership of core parts of the platform.
Lead design and architectural decisions in collaboration with the CTO.
Be accountable for the technical quality and long-term maintainability of your area.
Write high-quality, maintainable code across the stack, with a strong focus on system design and critical backend components.
Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical discussions.
Balance technical quality with pragmatic trade-offs to deliver iteratively.
Improve engineering practices around testing, performance, and reliability.
Collaborate closely with Product and Design to shape solutions.

What we’re looking for
5+ years of experience building production-grade software.
1–2+ years acting as a Tech Lead or senior engineer with leadership responsibilities.
Strong experience with React and Node.js.
Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
Experience making architectural decisions in real-world systems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Professional level Spanish and English.
