No Offer Description Chip Design Engineer (Group II, University of Barcelona) The University of Barcelona is seeking a Chip Design Engineer to work on the PRIMIC project, aimed at developing a RISC-V-based System-on-Chip with integrated cryptographic and blockchain accelerators for secure IoT nodes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of the SoC, including specification refinement, RTL development, simulation, synthesis and interaction with the fabrication flow, in close collaboration with UB researchers and the industrial partner. In a second phase, the engineer will also be responsible for the design of the associated PCBs and the bring-up and laboratory testing of the chip, including the definition of test plans and basic measurement procedures. The engineer will manage the day-to-day chip design tasks and their own work plan, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met. Gross salary per year: 28.891,80 €. The application period is from March 12 to March 25, both inclusive. Strong proficiency in Verilog for RTL design and verification Experience with digital IC synthesis and implementation (e.g., using industry-standard EDA tools) Experience with analog circuit design Specific Requirements Degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field. Research Field Engineering Years of Research Experience 1 - 4 Additional Information Eligibility criteria The selection is made through the evaluation of the curriculum, with an overall score of zero (0) to ten (10) points. The minimum score is five (5) points. The evaluation criteria are the following: Suitability of the candidate to the main function to be carried out Curricular experience Professional knowledge and skills Communication skills and motivation The tribunal, in its constitutive session, assesses the CVs of the candidates presented. Selection process A resolution of adjudication is issued to the person who, having passed the selection procedure, obtains the highest score and publishes the prioritised list of applicants who have passed the selection process, indicating the scores obtained, for subsequent recruitment, if necessary. Additional comments Duration of the contract of employment: 12 months, renewable up to 02/11/2028. The candidate proposed for hiring must accept the job offer within 5 working days from the date of notification of the selection.
