About us: At Quside, we design and manufacture innovative quantum technology for all connected devices. Using our proprietary quantum random number generator, we provide the security and performance that is required to build the next generation of encryption technologies. A new class of products and infrastructure with unprecedented future-proven security guarantees. Our mission is to make sure that secure communications keep being a commodity in the years to come. About the role: We're seeking an Application Engineer to drive the integration, validation, and real-world deployment of our Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) solutions. In this technical role, you will bridge quantum hardware and customer applications, developing SDKs, integration libraries, and use-case demonstrations while supporting our Entropy Core development. You'll work at the intersection of quantum physics, cryptographic engineering, and practical software integration. What you will do: Integration Development : Design and implement SDK integrations for OpenSSL, WolfSSL, and other cryptographic libraries, enabling seamless QRNG adoption. Testing & Validation : Develop comprehensive test suites for entropy delivery systems, including end-to-end validation of mTLS endpoints, throughput analysis, and NIST SP 800-90B/90C compliance verification. Documentation : Create clear technical documentation, including integration guides, application notes, and API references for developers and customers. Entropy Core Support : Contribute to the development of our rack-mounted Entropy Core system, including code optimization, bug fixes, roadmap execution, and release validation. Use Case Development : Build reference implementations and proof-of-concept demonstrations showing QRNG integration in real-world scenarios (IoT, cloud infrastructure, post-quantum cryptography). Customer Technical Support : Provide pre-sales technical guidance and post-deployment support for customer integrations. Cross-functional Collaboration : Work with FPGA, embedded systems, and QA teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration. What you need: Experience : 3-4+ years in application engineering, solutions engineering, or embedded software development with customer-facing technical work. Programming Skills : Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python. Experience with SDK development and API design. Experiences with Linux, building tools (CMake/Bazel), Bash scripting, virtualization, and Docker are appreciated. Cryptographic Libraries : Hands-on experience integrating or working with OpenSSL, WolfSSL, or similar crypto stacks (EVP API, ENGINE/PROVIDER architecture). Testing Mindset : Familiarity with test frameworks (pytest, Google Test, Catch2) and experience designing validation suites for complex systems. Networking & Security : Understanding of mTLS, PKI, certificate management, and secure network protocols. Communication : Excellent technical writing skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Languages: Advanced English and Spanish. Capable of communicating complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Education : University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related technical field. What would be good to have: Embedded Systems : Experience with RTOS, embedded Linux, or low-level driver development. Service Network Architecture : Familiarity with load balancers, firewalls, DMZ, HA, and scalability infrastructure. Hardware Awareness : Familiarity with FPGA systems, hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), or hardware-software co-design. Cryptographic Standards : Knowledge of NIST statistical test suites (SP 800-90B/90C), FIPS 140-3, or entropy quality metrics. Post-Quantum Cryptography : Exposure to PQC algorithms or quantum-resistant cryptographic implementations. DevOps/CI-CD : Experience with automated testing pipelines, containerization (Docker), or Azure DevOps. Customer Success Background : Experience in technical account management or field application engineering roles.
