Job Description

We’ve got big plans to expand into new markets and make a meaningful impact on the world of payments. To help us get there, our IT team is on the lookout for a new IT Support Technician. We are looking for a DataOps engineer, with primary focus on designing and managing the data operations and architecture framework covering the entire lifecycle of PayRetailers data assets.
Job Requirements
5+ years of overall technical experience, including at least 3+ years with a proven track record in DataOps and data engineering. Experience in Machine Learning is a plus.
Proficiency in designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and infrastructure.
Extensive experience in data integration, deployment, monitoring, and security.
Deep understanding of cloud data engineering (preferably on Azure) and experience working with tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Event Hub, Postgress, CosmosDB, Azure SQL, Kafka/Nats.
Expertise in Python (PySpark) and SQL skills.
Solid background in building and operating highly available, distributed systems, real‑time data ingestion, processing, and storage.
Working in regulated environments (e.g., online payments or financial services) is a plus.
Familiarity with CDC, streaming solutions, and real‑time data processing.
Familiarity with machine learning tools (e.g., MLFlow, Kubeflow) and data quality tools (e.g., dbt, Soda).
Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) are beneficial.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging tools (nice to have).
Experience with orchestrators like Dagster/Airflow (nice to have).
Job Responsibilities
Automate deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, and maintenance of data pipelines and services using modern DataOps practices.
Develop and manage dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor operational performance, job executions, and system reliability.
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data‑related incidents and performance bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
Lead initiatives to adopt industry best practices in data integration, data security, performance optimization, and infrastructure as code.
Work closely with data engineers, cloud infrastructure, and security teams, to provide technical guidance on architectural decisions and process improvements.
Provide accurate task duration estimates, technical insights, and recommendations for future enhancements in data operations.
