Main Purpose of Job The Educator presents and facilitates Higher Education and Training programmes and courses for Mediclinic students and employees to acquire competence as independent healthcare practitioners. They provide both classroom and practical staff training. Key Responsibility Areas Ensure compliance with Higher Education & Training and American Heart Association (AHA) standards Design and assess learning material and interventions Facilitate learning process, incl. theoretical and clinical facilitation Coordinate and administrate student-related processes Required Education Professional Nurse Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education / Health Science Education Postgraduate Diploma in a Nursing Speciality (e.g., Critical Care Nursing, Emergency or Operating Theatre) Master’s Degree in Nursing Desired Education N/A Required Experience 5 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse 1 year experience in training Desired Experience N/A Required Job Skills And Knowledge Instructional Design (ADDIE model) and its application Competence in compilation procedures Knowledge of Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Computer literate (Microsoft Office) Mediclinic Training and Nursing Policies and Procedures Group facilitation tools, techniques and best practices Understanding of learning and development quality management Bloom's taxonomy of assessment and evaluation Adult Learning Principles Mentoring and coaching Scholarly skills Assessment and Moderation Education, Training and relevant healthcare legislation and its application within Mediclinic training environment All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
