Electrical Engineer Drone / UAV Manufacturer Basque Country, Spain Salary: €45,000-€50,000 base plus benefits Airbotics Talent are exclusively partnered with an exciting Drone manufacturer based in the Basque Country region of Spain to hire an Electrical Engineer. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on highly innovative, cutting edge technology, developing first of their kind systems in a entrepreneurial scale-up environment. Our client are seeking an experienced and hands-on Electrical Engineer to lead key areas of electrical and electronics design, integration, and certification. The Role You’ll be joining a high-calibre technical team and taking end-to-end ownership of electrical and electronics development across the platform. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment, offering the opportunity to work on advanced aerial robotics systems and help shape a next-generation UAS product. Working cross-functionally with mechanical and software teams, you will design and deliver robust, scalable electrical systems while driving certification strategies and quality improvements across the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Own electrical design from concept through schematic, layout, validation, and integration. Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration. Lead component selection with a view to performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Build and test PCBs in-house, taking designs from prototype to production. Debug, validate, and resolve issues in development and fielded systems. Take charge of certification planning and execution, coordinating internal and external partners as needed. Identify and onboard suppliers or labs to support testing, manufacturing, and compliance efforts. Support continuous improvement of development processes with an eye toward quality and scale. Mentor interns or junior engineers, contributing to knowledge sharing across the team. The Person We're looking for a systems-minded electrical engineer who’s confident taking designs from idea to field deployment. You’ll be someone who thrives in dynamic, cross-functional teams and enjoys balancing technical depth with real-world constraints. The ideal candidate will have: A track record of designing complex electronic systems for UAV or flying robotic platforms Deep understanding of analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, and I2C. Strong proficiency with PCB design and layout tools (e.G., Altium or similar). Confidence in testing and debugging electronics using lab tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Previous experience working through regulatory approvals or certification efforts in global markets. An eye for scalability, from component choice to manufacturability and long-term robustness. Exposure to RF design, wireless communication systems, or drone platforms would be a strong asset. Experience in startups or high-growth engineering teams is also a plus. Self-motivated, delivery-focused, and ready to take full ownership of your work, with the curiosity to keep learning and the pragmatism to ship high-quality hardware.
