Job Title: Engineering Manager (EM)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership and people management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers
Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and career development planning
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning
Hire and onboard top engineering talent
Technical Leadership
Provide technical guidance and architectural direction
Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and system design
Participate in key technical decisions and code reviews
Collaborate with senior engineers to solve complex problems
Delivery & Execution
Own project planning, execution, and delivery timelines
Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions
Manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
Process & Quality Improvement
Establish and improve engineering processes (Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, etc.)
Drive engineering metrics (velocity, quality, reliability)
Ensure system performance, scalability, and security
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps teams
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership
Translate business goals into technical execution
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
6+ years of software development experience
2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
Strong knowledge of system design, architecture, and scalable systems
Experience with modern tech stacks (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, cloud platforms)
Proven track record of delivering complex projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in startups or high-growth environments
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with distributed systems and microservices
