Apply to this job opening and we will be delighted to meet you!Who we are looking forWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a startup mindset to develop casings for near-eye display devices and individual mounts for optical and electronic components. The main objective is to integrate all near-eye display components into a next-generation product.What you will doMechanical DesignDevelop casing for the near-eye displayDefine spatial requirements, mounting and integration methods for optical and electronic components Work with optical designers and electronics engineers to integrate the near-eye displayConduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to optimize mechanical strength, weight distribution, and heat managementWork closely with the manufacturing team and product engineer to fulfil DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principlesTolerancingWork with optics designers to develop mounts for optical components requiring highly precise alignmentWork with electronics designers to develop component housing ensuring heat dissipation and electromagnetic insulation and shielding Material SelectionResearch and select materials with required mechanical, thermal and electrical properties that are cost effective and compatible with large scale manufacturingFind the suppliers of materials and work with the product engineer and business developer to manage the supply chainPrototyping & TestingRapidly create and iterate on prototypes using methods such as 3D printing and run tests to validate the mechanical designsWhat technical skills you haveCAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or Fusion 360)FEA/CFD simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL)Strong understanding of heat management, shock resistance, and miniaturization challengesKnowledge of properties of polymers, composites and metals commonly used in wearable/consumer electronicsExperience with designing optomechanical and electromechanical componentsExperience with additive manufacturing (SLA, FDM and SLS 3D printing), CNC machining, and rapid prototyping toolsUnderstanding of design for large-scale manufacturing techniques (e.g. injection moulding) What education you haveMaster’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer electronics, wearable devices and/or AR/VR hardwareProfessional working level of EnglishWhat personal qualities you haveHigh personal and professional integrityInner drive and proactivityGood listening skills and open-mindedness to feedback and new ideasAbility to share information in a structured and concise wayAbility to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with external partnersInnovative and creative vision to identify new solutions to existing challengesWhat benefits you will gain by working at InmersiaFull-time permanent contractIndustry competitive fixed salary, bonus according to the achievement of specific objectives and lifestyle benefitsFlexible scheduleWorking on cutting-edge near-eye displays to revolutionize the XR industryWorking with talented and enthusiastic people towards a common missionStrong opportunities to grow with the startup (participating in all phases of product development, opportunities to draft patents)Tangible influence on important decision-makingPersonal development opportunities – let us know what you need!Fast-paced, productive and pleasant work environmentIf you are passionate about cutting-edge technology and would like to be part of a startup with great growth prospects, apply to this opening and we will be delighted to meet you!
