We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join a luxury resort in Zanzibar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in similar category hotels or resorts, with previous experience in Asia, Africa, and/or the Middle East. This role requires a high level of technical skill, creativity, and leadership to deliver exceptional pastry products aligned with the resort’s culinary standards.Key Responsibilities* Manage and oversee the pastry and bakery section of the resort.* Design, develop, and update dessert, pastry, and bakery offerings for:* À la carte restaurants* Buffets* Special events and banquets* Ensure the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency across all pastry products.* Supervise, train, and motivate the pastry team.* Control food cost, waste, and ordering processes.* Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP regulations.* Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menu planning and special events.* Adapt pastry offerings to an international clientele, considering cultural preferences and dietary requirements.Requirements* Professional qualification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field.* Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in similar category hotels or resorts, preferably in Asia, Africa, and/or the Middle East.* Proven experience working in multicultural and international environments.* Strong technical knowledge of classic and international pastry techniques.* Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.* High attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation.* Flexibility and adaptability to work in remote locations.* Professional level of English (mandatory).Desirable* Previous experience in luxury or all-inclusive resorts.* Knowledge of modern pastry trends, healthy desserts, and international concepts.* Experience in hotel openings or pre-opening phases.What We Offer* International contract in a unique destination.* Competitive salary package based on experience.* Accommodation, meals, and benefits .* Career growth opportunities within an international hospitality group.
