Overview
Under the P&W Commercial Aftermarket Organization, P&W Mature Commercial Engines owns and manages commercial Fleet Hour Agreement (FHA) contracts for IAE V2500 engines. The successful candidate will develop constructive working relationships within MCE, including Powerplant Engineering & Cost, Business Analytics, Network Operations and Fleet Management as well as internationally located Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Centers.
Responsibilities
As the local Powerplant Engineer at the Iberia shop in Madrid, write original and revised workscopes for V2500 engine overhaul and repair, and control maintenance costs for engines going through the overhaul shop.
Act as the technical focal point for the Maintenance Centre for technical inquiries related to the shop visit, including workscope upgrade approvals.
Conduct invoice reviews to identify top cost drivers and generate cost‑reduction ideas that will benefit future shop visits.
Review unserviceable or removed engine hardware for potential salvage, engine manual changes or future repair development.
Collaborate with PW Engineering teams in East Hartford, Fleet Management and customers to monitor fleet health, understand technical risks and take actions to mitigate.
Collaborate with a cross‑functional team on cost‑reduction ideas and their implementation in PW network shops, as well as identifying new opportunities for evaluation through the PW Program Office and Repair Council process.
Collaborate with local Maintenance Center to identify in‑process opportunities which control workscope and reduce maintenance cost, without compromising quality.
Track in‑process maintenance cost by engine to enable proactive measures that control shop visit cost.
Occasional travel to European and Middle‑East based Maintenance Centers, as well as the P&W headquarters in East Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a technical role.
Experience in one or more of the following: Powerplant Engineering, Engine Test, Design, Process Engineering, Airline Powerplant Engineering or MRO shop Operations.
Capable of communicating effectively in English and in Spanish.
Ability to work independently, with good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Preferably with technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines and preparation of shop visit workscopes.
Preferably familiar with engine overhaul processes, engine hardware, assembly, disassembly, operation and testing.
Candidates are expected to be currently located in Spain with proper work authorizations. The company will not support relocation and/or Immigration.
