Head of Compensation & Benefits Location Barcelona Salary: €100k Overview We are partnering with a fast-growing international business undergoing significant global expansion across multiple regions. As the organisation continues to scale, they are looking to appoint a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Compensation & Benefits to lead and evolve their global rewards strategy. This is a highly visible individual contributor role, partnering closely with senior leadership, Finance, FP&A and the wider People function to drive compensation, benefits and equity initiatives across a global workforce. The successful individual will combine strong technical compensation fundamentals with a pragmatic, agile and commercially flexible mindset suited to a high-growth scale-up environment. The Opportunity This role will take ownership of the company’s global compensation and benefits framework, while helping shape scalable reward programmes that support continued international growth. The environment is fast-paced, evolving and entrepreneurial. This is not a highly rigid corporate structure, therefore the business requires someone capable of balancing data-driven reward principles with practical commercial decision making. The role will suit someone who enjoys operating with ambiguity, can influence senior stakeholders confidently and is comfortable working both strategically and operationally. Key Responsibilities Compensation & Reward Own and manage the global compensation strategy across multiple regions. Lead compensation benchmarking, salary reviews, job grading and job levelling initiatives. Partner with external market data providers including Mercer, Aon, Willis Towers Watson and other benchmarking vendors. Refresh and redesign global job frameworks and compensation structures. Support annual compensation review cycles and salary planning processes. Provide guidance and challenge to executives and business leaders on compensation decisions. Build scalable reward frameworks suitable for a high-growth international business. Benefits Lead the global benefits strategy across all locations. Manage relationships with external benefits providers and negotiate vendor agreements. Oversee ongoing benefits optimisation projects, including executive healthcare programmes. Ensure benefits offerings remain competitive and commercially effective globally. Equity & Executive Reward Manage and support global equity and share-based compensation plans. Partner with leadership and Finance teams on equity planning and implementation. Support the rollout and administration of new equity programmes. Financial Partnership & Workforce Planning Partner closely with Finance and FP&A teams on budgeting, workforce cost planning and compensation forecasting. Support headcount planning and broader people cost modelling across the business. Provide reporting and reward insights to leadership teams. Stakeholder Management Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives across the business. Confidently challenge and influence stakeholders where required. Operate effectively in a demanding, high-performance environment with strong personalities and competing priorities. Key Requirements Proven experience within Compensation & Benefits, Reward or Total Rewards roles. Strong grounding in compensation benchmarking, job levelling, grading and benefits management. Experience managing or supporting equity/share plans. Previous experience within fast-paced scale-up, startup or high-growth international environments. Ability to balance structure and process with flexibility and commercial pragmatism. Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior executives. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and incomplete data. Experience partnering closely with Finance and FP&A teams. International or multi-region experience highly desirable.
