Senior Data Engineer | Fintech - Madrid Marks Sattin are partnered with a rapidly growing FinTech in Madrid that is scaling its Data team. As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint a Senior or Staff Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in modelling and maintaining their Data Platform. The Data team sits at the centre of the business, working collaboratively with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists and Analysts to build and evolve a modern, scalable platform used across the organisation. Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across diverse data sources (databases, APIs, file-based inputs). Manage pipeline using Airflow and cloud‑native services. Contribute to data modelling reviews and ensure models align with business objectives. Reduce technical debt by improving legacy code and maintaining platform quality. Skills needed: Experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience building and optimising pipelines in cloud or big‑data environments. Background in Financial Services (FinTech, Banking, Payments, Investment, Trading) preferred. Strong understanding of data modelling and warehousing concepts.
