Several positions of FPGA Development Engineer are now open in Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area) covering the Space business segments such as Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), and Commercial Telecommunications Satellites. Responsibilities
Define, implement and verify designs in RTL VHDL for various space applications such as Launchers (Ariane 6, Vega), power management subsystems, attitude control subsystems, satellite electric propulsion, image sensors management, data acquisition and processing, instrument control units, on‑board computing, antenna electronics and communications.
Analyze and synthesize high‑level requirements into FPGA specifications and design architecture.
Implement designs in RTL VHDL and perform functional verification.
Carry out physical implementation, synthesis and layout and verify the design.
Document design deliverables and maintain communication with the customer regarding the FPGA design.
Manage the complete development lifecycle from requirements analysis to final delivery of the flight model, ensuring schedule, cost and quality targets are met.
Qualifications
High degree in engineering with a strong background in microelectronics.
At least three years of experience in FPGA design.
Excellent knowledge of VHDL; experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog is a plus.
Solid understanding of physical and timing constraints for synthesis and layout.
Knowledge of static timing analysis.
Experience with FPGA systems on chip.
Familiarity with high‑level synthesis.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, Bash; experience in C/C++ is a plus.
Experience with FPGA design tools from Synopsys, Mentor, Actel/Microchip, Xilinx.
Knowledge of emerging processor technology RISC‑V.
Understanding of hardware prototyping solutions.
